Dear customer, shipping may be paused for now — but did you know this is actually the perfect time to practice your press-on application skills?
We’ve heard from so many of you: “I love my press-ons, but I can never get them to stay,” “They fall off after just a few hours,” or “What’s the secret to making jelly glue really hold?”
So while our shipping channels are resting, we’d like to share a few simple but effective tips to help you apply your press-ons more securely and make them last longer. By the time shipping resumes, you’ll be the one your friends ask for application advice.
Step 1: Prep Right — It’s Half the Battle
Many people stick the jelly tab right onto their bare nails and wonder why it doesn’t hold. Prep work makes all the difference.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Wash and dry thoroughly: Wash your hands with soap to remove natural oils, then dry completely — including the tips of your nails.
2. Use an alcohol pad: If you have one, gently wipe each nail to remove any remaining oil or residue. This helps the jelly glue “grip” the nail surface.
3. Push back cuticles: If cuticles are built up around the base or sides of your nails, they can lift the edges of the jelly tab. Gently push them back to create a smooth, flat surface.
Step 2: Size Matters — Choose Wisely
Bigger isn’t always better when it comes to jelly tabs.
The golden rule for sizing:
· The jelly tab should be slightly smaller than your natural nail — never larger
· If you’re between two sizes, choose the smaller one. A tiny gap at the edges actually helps the tab stay hidden and hold better
· Size each finger individually — don’t use the same size for all ten
Step 3: Warm It Up for Better Hold
Jelly glue doesn’t like the cold. When it’s cool, it stiffens and loses stickiness.
A simple trick:
· Hold the jelly tab in your palm for 10–15 seconds before applying
· Once on your nail, press firmly for at least 15 seconds to bond it to the surface
· Press from the center outward to push out any air bubbles
Step 4: Give It Time to Set
Freshly applied jelly tabs need a little time to settle.
Our advice:
· Wait at least 30 minutes before exposing your nails to water
· If you do need to wash your hands, use lukewarm water — hot water can soften the glue
· The best time to apply? Right before bed. After a full night’s rest, your press-ons will feel like they’ve “settled in”
Step 5: Don’t Overwear Them
For jelly glue application, we recommend wearing your press-ons for no more than 3–5 days continuously.
After that, moisture and debris can sneak in from the edges and loosen the bond. Taking a day off in between wears gives your nails a chance to breathe and helps the jelly tabs retain their stickiness for next time.
We hope these little tips help you fall in love with your press‑on nails all over again. Great manicures don’t just depend on beautiful designs — they start with careful prep and a little patience.
Thank you for your love and support — we’ll see you very soon!
