How to Apply Press-on Nails:Application Guide for Glue & Adhesive Tabs

Beautiful nails in minutes! You can apply press-on nails quickly using either nail glue or adhesive jelly tabs. Here’s a step-by-step guide for both methods:

Method 1: Using Nail Glue

What You Need:

  • Nail glue
  • Nail file & buffer
  • Cuticle pusher or orange stick
  • Alcohol pad or nail cleanser

Steps:

  1. Prepare Your Natural Nails
    1. Remove old polish, clean hands and nails thoroughly.
    2. Gently push back cuticles with a cuticle pusher.
    3. Lightly buff your nail surface to remove shine (this helps adhesion).
    4. Wipe nails with an alcohol pad to remove oil and dust.
  2. Find the Right Press-on Nail Sizes
    1. Choose the most suitable nail tip for each finger. File sides if needed for a perfect fit.
  3. Apply Nail Glue
    1. Apply a thin, even layer of glue onto your natural nail and/or the back of the press-on nail.
  4. Attach the Press-on Nails
    1. Place the press-on nail at the base of your cuticle (slightly above, NOT on top of the cuticle), then press down firmly for 10–20 seconds until secure and bubble-free.
  5. Repeat for All Fingers
    1. Continue above steps for all nails.
  6. Finish & Care
    1. Avoid water and heavy tasks for at least 1 hour after application, for best durability.
    2. To remove: Soak your nails in warm, soapy water for 10–15 minutes, then gently loosen the press-on nails.

Method 2: Using Jelly Adhesive Tabs

What You Need:

  • Jelly adhesive tabs / double-sided nail stickers
  • Nail file & buffer
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Alcohol pad

Steps:

  1. Prepare Your Natural Nails
    1. Clean and push back cuticles, lightly buff nail surface, and cleanse with an alcohol pad.
  2. Choose Press-on Nails & Adhesive Tab Sizes
    1. Select the correct size tips and jelly tabs for each finger.
  3. Apply Jelly Tab
    1. Peel the jelly tab off the backing, place it on your natural nail, and press to ensure it sticks.
  4. Remove Top Film
    1. Peel off the protective layer from the top side of the jelly tab.
  5. Apply Press-on Nail
    1. Align the press-on nail, gently press from the cuticle to tip, and hold for 10–15 seconds.
  6. Repeat for All Fingers
  7. Finish & Care
    1. Avoid water for a couple of hours for lasting hold.
    2. To remove: Gently lift from the side using a cuticle stick.

Which Method Should I Choose?

  • Nail Glue: Best for long-lasting wear (1–2 weeks), stronger hold, and water-resistant.
  • Jelly Tabs: Best for quick, non-damaging, short-term wear (5–7 days), no residue and easy removal.

Tip: No matter which method you use, keep your natural nails dry and oil-free before application for the best results!
